Marketing & Digital Communications Manager
Are you a marketing expert who’s equal parts strategist and doer? Can you confidently serve as the main point of contact for clients and roll up your sleeves to execute the work, from content creation to campaign optimization? Do you enjoy the client-facing side of agency work while staying up to date with the latest marketing trends and spearheading business development to grow the company?
Do you bring a service-minded approach to relationships, the ability to translate big ideas into actionable plans, and an open, curious mindset?
If so, you may be Written’s next Marketing Manager.
In this role, you’ll need to understand both the client’s business and our own, ensuring projects move seamlessly from strategy to execution. All marketing strategy and creative concepts will run through you — not just for review, but for hands-on implementation. We’re looking for someone who understands what truly works in marketing and can ensure we deliver not only what clients ask for, but what they actually need to succeed.
This role has significant growth potential, with the opportunity to evolve into a director-level position and contribute meaningfully to business operations.
What You'll Do:
Lead and develop integrated digital campaigns across social, email, web, and paid channels — from strategy to execution — ensuring alignment with client goals and agency standards.
Develop and manage multi-channel marketing strategies, content plans, and performance frameworks, including objectives, target audiences, KPIs, budgets, timelines, and reporting.
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and external partners, strengthening relationships, leading check-ins, clarifying needs, and ensuring high-quality delivery.
Create and oversee the development of high-quality content — web copy, blogs, social posts, email campaigns, video scripts, and more — that reflects each client’s brand voice and strategic objectives.
Delegate tasks to designers, writers, and contractors as needed, ensuring smooth workflows and quality control while still producing content.
Lead SEO strategy (keyword research, content optimization, and reporting) to guide editorial direction and drive measurable growth.
Analyze campaign performance and translate insights into clear, proactive recommendations and optimization plans.
Collaborate with designers, developers, and creative partners to ensure cohesive, on-brand execution across all touchpoints.
Conduct market, competitor, and audience research to inform brand positioning, messaging frameworks, and strategic recommendations.
Support internal communications and change-management projects (e.g., communication plans, needs assessments, training materials, onboarding assets) when assigned.
Contribute to Written’s own marketing and business development, including proposals, case studies, website and social updates, brand assets, and thought-leadership content.
Operate as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO, helping shape client strategies, improving processes, and ensuring seamless execution as the role grows.
Who You Are:
A mid- to upper-level marketer (5–7+ years) with experience in an agency or multi-client environment and confidence handling client relationships independently.
A strong strategic thinker and communicator — both written and verbal — able to present ideas clearly and guide clients through recommendations.
Comfortable using analytics tools like GA4, Tag Manager, and Search Console to interpret data and turn insights into actionable decisions.
Proficient in core digital marketing channels, platforms, and best practices, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, paid media, social media strategy, and CMS management.
Experienced in managing paid ad campaigns across Google, LinkedIn, Meta, and similar platforms.
Equipped with basic design and web skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress, Drupal, Squarespace; HTML/CSS familiarity a plus).
Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and client expectations with minimal oversight.
Someone who thrives in a flexible, collaborative, fast-paced agency environment; comfortable leading execution AND guiding strategy.
A relationship-builder with confident client presentation skills and a problem-solving, solutions-oriented mindset.
Note that the above job description is a general outline and may be subject to adjustments based on the specific requirements of Written and our clients.
