The Threat Lab: Strategic Communications

The Defense Personnel and Security Research Center (PERSEREC) was the home of The Threat Lab. The Threat Lab formulated and strengthened Counter Insider Threat (C-InT) Programs that enabled federal agencies, the private sector, academia, and international partners to improve their detection, mitigation, and prevention efforts. As a subcontractor to Peraton (formerly Northrop Grumman), Written delivered multifaceted communications and organizational development solutions until PERSEREC's closure.

Challenge

Written was tasked to conduct a thorough analysis of communication channels and identify critical gaps in The Threat Lab's outreach strategy. The goal of this comprehensive audit was to inform the development of a robust infrastructure that positioned The Threat Lab as a global authority in workforce protection.

Product Launch Framework

The Threat Lab maintained an extensive portfolio of resources, workshops, and job aids serving the insider threat community. Written developed and implemented a streamlined Go-To-Market worksheet system that:

  • Established a structured methodology for organizing and tracking product development

  • Created a standardized evaluation process for assessing product readiness

  • Provided clear launch protocols that ensured consistent messaging and maximum impact

Strategic Engagement Calendar

To foster collaboration and strengthen The Threat Lab's organizational culture, Written designed a comprehensive engagement framework that:

  • Creating systems to equip ambassadors with tools to effectively promote The Threat Lab through their professional networks
